Jesus the only way to Salvation
The big names of the world today are President Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Putin, President George W Bush, Barack Hussein Obama, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon and many others.
The big names of the past were Mother Teresa, Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, Presidents Boris Jeltsin and Mikael Gorbatsjov, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and lots of others.
There are many big names in history also when thinking of founders of different religions, ideologies and political parties. As time has passed most of these people have died and are resting in their graves and you have to go to the library and to the history books to get to know them.
There is one exception. His name is above all other names. His name is JESUS.
He lived and died. He gave his life to save us from sin and everlasting death. He arose again and lives today and gives all who believe in him everlasting life.
He is the Son of God.
The name of Jesus is an everlasting name. It was relevant 2000 years ago. It has been a name that all generations have known. No other name in the past, present or in the future brings salvation. The Bible says in Acts 4:12: ”Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” And John 1.12 says: “to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”.
Whenever you call upon the name of Jesus he is near you and listens to your prayer!
God can wait!
What counts for many people is to have an important job, have money and a house, status and prestige. Think if I were half as rich as Microsoft founder Bill Gates or as Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA! Or as famous as Tom Cruise or Britney Spears or Luciano Pavarotti! Or as football players Wayne Rooney or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer! Or as known as religious leaders as Pope Benedict XVI or General Shaw Clifton in the Salvation Army!
Many people have an unhealthy life style with drugs, misuse of alcohol, free sex and selfish thinking. Others seem to have no place for God. They want be free! Those things about God can wait until a couple of days before one dies, they think. But no-one knows when life is over.
God wants us to live our whole life in harmony and company with him. He wants us to give him first priority and that we should experience his blessing upon life.
When the rich man asked Jesus what he should do to inherit eternal life, Jesus told him to sell everything and follow him. But he was not willing to do that.
If we want to get saved and live at peace with God nothing should come between us and God. Jesus says in Matt 6,19-21 and 33: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Therefore, the best decision we can make, is to give our lives to God as early as possible. If you have not done it already, do it today - before it is too late! Read more about how in the next pages!
